Democrats, Please Consider Ron Paul

“The President has no war power, only the Congress has that. When one person can initiate war, by its definition, a republic no longer exists.”
Ron Paul, Speech to Congress, March 9, 1999

This blog is dedicated to Ron Paul and his believes. Even though he is running as a Republican Presidential candidate, I'd like to point out to our Democrat readers out there some of Ron Paul's believes, and how it relates to --not just the Democrats or Republicans -- every single one of us.

Ron Paul is an advocate of:

- States’ rights
- Free trade
- Fewer taxes (typical Conservative ideal)
- Smaller government (good bye to George Bush’s police state)
- Strong national sovereignty
- Non-interventionism

The key words here are: non-interventionism. What is it? Well, let's talk about it:

Non-interventionism defined:

Nonintervention is a foreign policy which holds that political rulers should avoid alliances with other nations and avoid all wars not related to direct territorial self-defense. A similar phrase is “strategic independence”.

If you're anti-war like myself and believe that the best way to save America is Non-interventionism, then Ron Paul is an excellent candidate.

He has called for the abolition of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the federal income tax. He also voted against the USA PATRIOT Act, the Iraq War Resolution, and the Military Commissions Act of 2006.

According to Ron Paul, the Republican party has lost its way. True Conservatism isn’t about fighting in an unpopular war, a struggling economy at home, and international hatred as a result of foreign policies.

He is the exact antithesis of George Bush’s neo-cons.

Please, I sincerely ask you to be more open-minded, and choose for what's best for yourself and America. Don't let name of the parties misdirect your votes.

Not yet convinced? This is Ron Paul's message on the Iraq war: "Just come home" (see video below)
